A Two-Phase Program!

The AI Co-Op Venture program has two phases – pre-incubation and incubation. The pre-incubation phase runs at partnering universities with student teams under the direction and guidance of AI Co-Op Ventures as well as other industry partners, business and technical mentors, and faculty. The incubation stage runs outside of the universities with funding from angels, VCs, or strategic investors with professional licensing or startup management. Our Process

Join the AI Co-Op Ventures Program.

  • PRODUCT PROPOSAL: An organizational sponsor will submit a product proposal based on the challenges and opportunities it is facing for the AI Co-Op Ventures review.

  • PRODUCT SELECTION: AI Co-Op Ventures will accept or reject the proposal based on business, technical, and feasibility criteria and sign a product licensing agreement.

  • PRODUCT TEAM: AI Co-Op Ventures work with industry, government, and the universities as appropriate to set up the product team for building the product MVP.

  • TEAM COMPOSITION: The product team will typically consist of university students, faculty, business, and technical mentors, and sponsor's team members.

  • COMMERCIALIZE PRODUCT: AI Co-Op Ventures works with the sponsor for commercialization of the product via product track or start-up track process.

  • DR. SANJAY CHITNIS: AI Technologist and AI / Machine Learning Startups Champion.

    Sanjay Chitnis is an academician, technologist, and mentor in the domain of Machine Learning. He has experience of over 35 years in various leadership roles in Product Development in various Technology domains.

    In Motorola, he managed a project for the development of the Messaging Subsystem of IRIDIUM, the communication network based on low orbit satellites. He was also responsible for setting up best practices for Software Engineering, Six Sigma, and Project Management in Motorola, India as well as other software centers of Motorola across the world. He was SEI certified CMMI SCAMPI B Lead Assessor and Trainer in Motorola University for Six Sigma for Product Development. Later in LG, he led the platform engineering team in India for LG Smart devices.

    He is currently the Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore. He has been the Principal of CMR Institute of Technology, Bangalore, and Director, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at Dayananda Sagar University.

    He did his M.Tech from IIT Kanpur and Ph.D. in Machine Learning from the Dept. of Computer Science and Automation, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

    Nitin Pradhan has 25+ years of experience in delivering results-focused innovation and transformation in Federal, State, and Local Governments as well as Silicon Valley startups in the US.

    Nitin was a first-term Obama administration appointee and the award-winning, nationally recognized federal CIO for the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) where he provided IT leadership, vision, strategy, policy, and oversight for US DOT’s more than $3.5 billion annual IT portfolio and for over 3,000 IT employees, 10,000 IT contractors, and over 200 major transportation IT systems -- the 6th largest in the US federal government.

    Earlier, Nitin was the IT Executive at Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), the 10th largest school district in the USA. Nitin has also been the Managing Director of the prestigious Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology (CIT), which is focused on technology-based economic development, industry creation and development, and business growth.

    Nitin is the founder and CEO of Launch Dream, LLC, an advisory program for Venture Capital Firms, Funded Technology Startups, Accelerators, Contractors, and Consulting Firms interested in growing in the US Federal Government sector. Launch Dream also runs a global digital “Federal Business Accelerator” and student-focused “Career Trajectory” program on its digital platform “ScaleUP USA.”

    Nitin is also the Managing Partner for GOVonomy, an "Innovation as a Service" for government and government contractors. He is a mentor at Mach 37, the premium cybersecurity accelerator in Washington DC, USA and a Board Member at hedQTRS AI Labs, and a partner at Co-Op as a Service as well as AI Co-Op Ventures.

    Nitin has been a keynote speaker and author for major conferences and tech publications. Nitin has a BS in engineering, MBA in marketing, and MS in accounting. During his career, Nitin has won many national technology awards.

    Uday Vipra has 25+ years of experience in managing business operations for large business transformation-oriented IT consulting & emerging technologies programs.

    Uday has strong acumen in evaluating start-ups for Corporate Innovation & Investments. Uday is currently co-founder at IncubateHub which is a Catalyst partner in open innovation for global enterprises to drive commercial innovations by accelerating adoption of emerging technologies through B2B start-ups, scaleups, and engineering partners. He is also driving strategies for business expansion in new markets by forging alliance partnerships with VCs, accelerators, various countries’ trade promotion organizations. IncubateHub has aggregated more than 11K start-ups and 160K hackers, makers, students, professionals from more than 800 Engineering & Business schools, innovation, and R&D organizations.

    Earlier, Uday was the COO for Business Transformation Services a 1.2Bn USD revenues unit at Wipro Technologies, which is a global IT Consulting & services company, delivering YoY growth on revenues & operating margins. He also led due diligence & winning strategies for large deals and delivery of large programs.
